Automobile repair tools are the necessary material conditions for automobile maintenance. Its function is to complete various operations that are inconvenient for automobile repair machinery. In the repair work, whether the use of tools is correct or not is of great significance to improve work efficiency and vehicle repair quality. 1、 General tools

General tools include hand hammer, screwdriver, pliers, wrench, etc.

（1） Hand hammer

A hand hammer is composed of a hammer head and a handle. The hammer head weighs 0.25kg, 0.5kg, 0.75kg, 1kg, etc. The hammer head has round head and square head. The handle is made of hard miscellaneous wood and is generally 320 ~ 350 mm long.

（2） Screwdriver

Screwdriver (also known as screwdriver) is a tool used to tighten or loosen slotted screws.

When in use, wipe the oil on the pliers to avoid slipping during operation. After clamping the parts, bend or twist them; When clamping large parts, enlarge the jaw. Do not turn bolts or nuts with pliers.

2. Pointed nose pliers: used to clamp parts in narrow places.

（4） Spanner

Used to fold bolts and nuts with edges and corners. Open end wrenches, ring wrenches, socket wrenches, adjustable wrenches, torque wrenches, pipe wrenches and special wrenches are commonly used in automobile repair.

1. Open end wrench: there are 6 pieces and 8 pieces within the range of opening width of 6 ~ 24mm. It is suitable for folding bolts and nuts of general standard specifications.

2. Ring wrench: it is suitable for folding bolts or nuts in the range of 5 ~ 27mm. Each set of ring wrenches is available in 6 pieces and 8 pieces.

The two ends of the box wrench are like sockets with 12 corners. It can cover the head of the bolt or nut and is not easy to slip off during operation. Some bolts and nuts are limited by the surrounding conditions, and the plum blossom wrench is particularly suitable.

3. Socket wrench: each set has 13 pieces, 17 pieces and 24 pieces. It is suitable for folding and installing some bolts and nuts where the ordinary wrench cannot work due to the limited position. When folding bolts or nuts, different sleeves and handles can be selected according to needs.

4. Adjustable wrench: the opening of this wrench can be adjusted freely, which is suitable for irregular bolts or nuts.

When in use, the jaw should be adjusted to the same width as the opposite side of the bolt or nut, and make it close, so that the wrench movable jaw can bear the thrust, and the fixed jaw can bear the tension.

5. Torque wrench: used to tighten bolts or nuts with socket. Torque wrench is indispensable in automobile repair. For example, torque wrench must be used to fasten cylinder head bolts and crankshaft bearing bolts. The torque wrench used in automobile repair has a torque of 2881 Newton meters.

6. Special wrench: or ratchet wrench, which should be used with socket wrench. It is generally used for tightening or dismantling bolts or nuts in narrow places. It can fold or assemble bolts or nuts without changing the wrench angle.

2、 Special tools

Special tools commonly used in automobile repair include spark plug sleeve, piston ring loading and unloading pliers, valve spring loading and unloading pliers, grease gun, kilogram item, etc.

（1） Spark plug sleeve

The spark plug sleeve is used for disassembly and assembly of engine spark plugs. The opposite side size of the inner hexagon of the sleeve is 22 ~ 26mm, which is used to fold 14mm and 18mm spark plugs; The opposite side of the inner hexagon of the sleeve is 17 mm, which is used to fold 10 mm spark plugs.

（2） Piston ring handling pliers

Piston ring loading and unloading pliers are used to load and unload the engine piston ring to prevent the piston ring from being broken due to uneven force.

When in use, clamp the piston ring loading and unloading pliers to the opening of the piston ring, gently grasp the handle, slowly shrink, the piston ring will slowly open, and install or remove the piston ring into or out of the piston ring groove.

（3） Valve spring handling pliers

Valve spring remover is used for loading and unloading valve springs. When in use, retract the jaw to the minimum position, insert it under the valve spring seat, and then rotate the handle. Press the left palm forward firmly to make the jaw close to the spring seat. After loading and unloading the air lock (PIN), rotate the valve spring loading and unloading handle in the opposite direction and take out the loading and unloading pliers.

The grease gun is used to fill grease at each lubrication point and is composed of oil nozzle, oil pressure valve, plunger, oil inlet hole, rod head, lever, spring, piston rod, etc.
